Sticky Baked Tofu Tenders
Amazing!!! The only word I have for these babies right here!!! Try them....
1 block extra firm tofu, drained and cut into long 1 inch pieces
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons adobo seasoning
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
2 cups panko
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups unsweetened nondairy milk
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup agave nectar
1/2 cup hot sauce
1 teaspoon minced garlic
Preheat oven to 425°
Lay tofu pieces in single layer, and add seasonings to tofu and set aside
In mixing bowl, mix nondairy milk and apple cider vinegar, set aside to allow mixture to curd and become thick.
In another mixing bowl, mix panko and salt.
Stir milk mixture to combine well.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with oil to ensure tofu does not stick to the pan.
Taking tofu slices, place into the milk mixture then into panko, make sure pieces are completely covered. Place in single layer on baking sheet. Repeat until all pieces are covered.
Place in oven, bake for 7 minutes, turn pieces over bake for additional 7-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
While tofu is baking. In saucepan add agave, hot sauce and garlic, bring to boil over high heat, stirring frequently.
Once boiling reduce heat and allow to thicken and simmer.
Remove tofu, place in mixing bowl and drizzle with thick sauce. ENJOY.
